Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!!
I figured WordPress was kind enough to set up this generic post for us, so I’ll go ahead and keep it!! This is the first post in our new blog “THEN I MET HER” isn’t that exciting?! I don’t know how often we’ll post, by we I refer to Jeanna and myself……..yup, Jeanna has said she also wants to blog, Welcome Jeanna……… 🙂
The reason I, Debbie, blog here at “Then I Met Her” is to document our journey. I want to be able to show our children one day how it is we went about seeking to create life, to create life that we will cherish with all our hearts and that we’ll do anything to protect. I want our children to know that while their method of been conceived is different than ‘normal’ – what is normal anyways – they were brought into this world by two individuals who love each other more than life itself, who want to share that love with a little bundle of joy (or two), and who want to experience all the joys and challenges of parenthood!!!
I am sure that I might go off on rants, or talk about how truly blessed I am, how blessed WE are in all that we have and how we want for very little (except that next flat screen TV) 😉 in life. I will explain parts of this process perhaps in more detail than some might be comfortable reading (don’t worry I will add appropriate disclaimers at the beginning of posts).
A very important reason for this blog is that while I don’t always communicate as effectively as I’d like, I have grown to love the process of electronically documenting my trials and tribulations.
Lastly, I am also extremely happy that this medium of communcation exists so that my family, especially my mother, back home are kept up to date with all that is going on, more than just the appointments and steps we’ll go through but also that they’ll be in the know as to where I am with emotions, thoughts, feelings, and fears, to name a few. Many of which I might not otherwise fully express………..because let me tell you – the thought of having a little life to take care of, feed, clothe, clean, protect etc. scares the living shit out of me!!! But no amount of being scared could deter me from reaching our ultimate goal, we are ready to create life, we are ready to put ourselves aside and put our child/ren first and foremost in our lives as every parent should, as our parents did for us!!!
[on a side note to all who come and read along with this journey, as this blog is public, please note that this is the story of two women – who love each other who are venturing down the scary road to parenthood……..what I mean to say is that this is a GLBT (ok, it’s an L) blog, if you disagree with our lifestyles, I respect your opinion and I believe in our ability to agree to disagree…….and I ask that if you do not agree with our lifestyle to a point where you feel the need to express that to us in comments, etc. you stop reading and move onto a blog that perhaps more appropriately matches your beliefs and moral code. ALL ARE WELCOME BUT HATE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!!]
