Yes, Yes, I know what you’re going to say – DUH!! I never expected any of this to be easy – but WOW after the past week and a half I can say, with complete certainty, motherhood is HARD.
Hard when you have to see your little one sick. I am sure there is nothing worse. I would have done anything to take that sickness out of Gradie and take it upon myself. I have to say that even though she was not feeling good she did a great job of being strong and not letting it upset her too much.
Gradie ended up having an ear infection and a bad cold, a virus, so of course not much they could do about that, but she ended up with a nebulizer for her wheezy chest and bad cough. I was thinking to myself, how do you get a 6 month old to sit still for 10 to 15 minutes, while having something held up to her face that’s blowing air/vapors?? But Gradie showed me exactly how it’s done – take a look;
And she showed Mamma Jeanna too; (Jeanna is going to kill me for posting this picture, but I think it’s cute 🙂 !)
When all else failed, and bed time just wasn’t happening, we improvised by having a Mommy/Daughter slumber party, for a couple hours!!
Turns out baby’s are pretty resilient. Today as I wrap up this post Gradie is just about all better, she still has her baby cough, and is wrapping up her antibiotics, but I am glad to report that the worst is behind us. During this time Jeanna was also really sick – but she too is wrapping up her antibiotics, and besides for the nagging cough is feeling better (I think). Lucky me I am now a little sick but that’s ok, just wish I was when Gradie was so I could have given her the antibodies she needed to fight the silly virus off easier!!
