Baby in There??
These have very possibly become 3 of my favorite words……firstly, Elliot is combining words together to make sentences, she’s so smart. Secondly, she points at my belly, says this and then proceeds to ‘look’ for her new baby cousin…………inevitably she gets freaked out by my protruding belly button then pulls my shirt down quick and giggles!!
But she is right (as usual), there is a baby in there 🙂 and it is such an amazing and glorious feeling knowing that he/her is snug as a bug in there, moving about, at times doing gymnastics, or taekwondo, and keeping him/herself entertained until the big day of their arrival.
Today I am 30 weeks pregnant – yup THIRTY!! That means we are ¾ of the way there – WOW!!!!!! The trusty app on our phones now reflects just 70 days left until D-Day, or expected D-Day, that’s such a little compared to the original 280 days we had ahead of us when this journey began.
AND…….What an amazing journey it has been. I am not going to go painting that this pregnancy has been nothing but roses and daisies, but I have to admit it has been pretty dang close. Yes I’ve had some not so pleasant side effects that happen while your body acts as an incubator for 10 months (yes you’re pregnant for 10 months, not 9), but they have been minimal and I cannot and WILL NOT complain about any of them. This is a journey that I have LOVED…….yes I said it, I admit it, I have LOVED being pregnant. While I cannot wait to meet Mr. or Ms. Mc Loughlin in roughly 70 days, I am almost certain a part of me will miss feeling the movements, the flutters in my belly, knowing that he/she is growing and thriving in my belly and randomly yelling at Jeanna LOOK, every time I see/feel a big movement.
So in conclusion, YES – Elliot there is a Baby in There and soon he/she will be here, and life as Jeanna and I know it will change, but it will change for the better!!! We are ready to be the best parents we can possibly be, and I know that if we are even a half of the parents to our little one that our own parents were to us, then we will be a success!!
Of course I must include a picture – because just reading is NO fun 😉 This was taken this weekend after a great Sunday Funday – Debbie and Jeanna at 29 weeks and 5 days!!
